But Some of Us Are Brave is an introduction to poetry essentials as a poetry writing solo RPG. No previous knowledge of poetry is necessary to join this journey. The prompts are presented independently. An example set of poems with forms and poetry terms is presented at the very end.

This is a game journey that is meant to be played throughout one cozy night. It was written and play-tested by the author in one night (the same one they wrote it). There is no particular timeline, but aligning the last prompt with the sun rising is exceptionally poetic and symbolic.

This was written for 2022/2023 'Winter Werewolf' Jam Hosted by Superdillin #winterwerewolves

Safety:

Note: because of the nature of a solo written larp, I have chosen not to list any explicit content warnings.

Please, keep your own personal safety in mind. Since this is not played with others, feel free to walk away - to ground and center yourself, take a break, get snacks, or even to pace yourself to write these. Skip prompts. And of course, never be afraid to walk away from a game if it’s not for you. You, as a person, are more important than a game.
